KAKINADA: In view of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Varahi Bus Yatra’ to be begun on June 14, the police imposed ‘Section 30’ in Peddapuram, Kakinada, Ramachandrapuram, Amalapuram, and Kothapeta police sub-division limits. The police said that, as per Section 30, there should be no processions, rallies or public meetings held without permission from the police authorities concerned.

Meanwhile, Jana Sena leaders criticised the police’s action in imposing Section 30. They said that the state government wanted to suppress the yatra by laying down restrictions. Peddapuram DSP K. Lalitha Kumari at Kathipudi and Prathipadu and Amalapuram DSP M. Ambika Prasad at Mummidivaram and Amalapuram and other officials inspected the parking sites and public meeting places on Sunday.

The police have no objections to the meeting at Mummidivaram. But the Jana Sena leaders have decided to hold a public meeting at the Clock Tower centre in Amalapuram. The police objected to the place as it would cause more inconvenience to the general public. The police suggested a layout site that would be convenient to the Jana Sena and also the people. Discussions are being held between the police and Jana Sena leaders.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Jana Sena leaders want to hold a public meeting at Prathipadu Bus Stand centre in Peddapuram division limits. But the police felt that it was also the most inconvenient place for the general public and road traffic. The police officials requested the Jana Sena leaders to hold the public meetings without causing any inconvenience to the general public.
