Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was trying to pose as a national leader ahead of the Presidential elections but no national-level leader believed him. Rao had paid courtesy visits and met Opposition leaders but was giving the impression that he was a national leader, he said.

“I spoke to several leaders, whom KCR had meet recently. They simply replied that being Chief Minister they accorded respect to KCR but they will not consider his political opinions,” Revanth Reddy claimed.

Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Revanth Reddy termed Rao as “expired medicine” and said the people decided to oust him. He said Rao was claiming that the Congress had been wiped out, but was trying to strike and alliance with the party.

Revanth Reddy said that Rao had benefited from the Telangana sentiment and had amassed wealth. “KCR is dreaming of elevating himself as a national leader, but his efforts have turned futile several times,” he said.

Reacting to the proposed Bharat Rashtra Samiti, the national political party of the TRS, Revanth Reddy dared Rao to field a candidate in the Atmakur byelection in Andhra Pradesh.

“KCR lives in a world of illusion and is confined to his Gajwel farmhouse,” he said.
