Komatireddy to contest in next Assembly elections

Hyderabad: Clarifying that he wanted to contest the Nalgonda Assembly seat in the forthcoming state elections, Bhongir Lok Sabha member Komatireddy Venkat Reddy maintained that he would not speak on politics till a month prior to the polls.

Speaking to mediapersons in Nalgonda after handing over financial assistance to medical students funded by Komatireddy Prateek Reddy Foundation, Venkat Reddy said he would stick to resolving people’s problems.

 “I resigned as a minister as positions in PCC are not important to me. My priorities shall remain with the people,” he said.

On YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s statements on reunification of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he asked the Andhra Pradesh leaders to avoid such statements as Telangana was achieved after sacrifices that could never be undermined.

Demanding that the TRS government offer Dalit Bandhu only to those eligible, he said he would take up a ‘legal fight’ if discrepancies in its implementation are found. Venkat Reddy Reddy said despite innumerable promises, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has failed to bring in any development to Nalgonda district.
