Anantapur: YSRC cadres celebrated the judicial custody of TD president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the Skill Development scam in various parts of the region on Sunday night.

The cadres came on the streets and fired crackers, hoping that the soul of TD party founder and former chief minister N.T. Rama Rao would be satisfied with Naidu's arrest. They alleged that Naidu had grabbed the party by backbiting and had finally been punished for his corruption.

In Proddatur town in Kadapa district, YSRC leaders and cadres fired crackers at Rajasekhar Reddy circle. A group of leaders led by Proddatur municipal councillors celebrated the occasion.

Anantapur Urban MLA Ananta Venkatrami Reddy said that there was nothing special or sensational about Naidu's judicial remand, as he had been involved in many corrupt practices when he was chief minister. He alleged that Naidu had managed to evade punishment for his irregularities in the past, but that the law had finally caught up with him.
