Thakur holds meeting to review BJP's preparations for Mumbai Lok Sabha seats

Mumbai: The BJP on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss all six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai. The meeting was chaired by Union minister and senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur in Mumbai BJP’s office. The party said it will win all Mumbai seats.

Mumbai BJP president and legislator  Ashish Shelar was also present with Mr. Thakur in the meeting, which was attended by Maharashtra Cabinet minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MP Manoj Kotak, Lok Sabha Election Steering Committee Coordinator MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar, MLC Pravin Darekar and office bearers amongst others.

A BJP leader said that Mr. Thakur has asked Mumbai unit leaders to focus on the beneficiaries of the central government schemes in the slum pockets and SC communities.

He also said that the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Committee has been formed for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Mr. Shelar will be the chairman of this committee, while Mr Bhatkhalkar will be the convenor. There will be four co-convenors including Sanjay Upadhyay.

According to the BJP,  36 different party departments have been formed and assigned responsibilities to them.

Mr Thakur also reviewed preparations for all the Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai. "Meetings of all the super warriors and key office bearers of Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly constituencies are being held. Emphasis is being laid on building organisational structure. Also, efforts are being made to empower the booth committees and to make the initiatives entrusted by the party more comprehensive and successful," the BJP leader said.
