Chennai: Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict rejecting that Centre’s contention that courts have no power to hear cases on the Cauvery dispute, leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin on Friday said Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam should take up the issue with the Centre immediately and exert pressure to form the Cauvery Management Board in this Parliament session itself.

In a statement here, he also welcomed the verdict that its order to Karnataka government to release 2,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu would continue till the next direction. The Supreme Court will continue to hear the Cauvery cases is a happy news for Tamil Nadu farmers, he noted.
