Visakhapatnam: Former central minister and TD politburo member P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju described as ridiculous that AP’s leader of opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu being arrested by AP police without following the due procedure.
Speaking to media personnel in Vizianagaram on Saturday, he underlined that Naidu would not run away from the law. "He is a responsible leader of opposition, serving the interests of people. He is protected by the SPG. Why will he run away," Ashok asked.
The former union minister observed that there would have been no harm in serving Chandrababu Naidu an FIR providing the proof of crime before arresting the former chief minister.
"Not only has YSRC government not developed Andhra Pradesh during the last four years, it has introduced the politics of vengeance," Ashok Gajapathi Raju remarked.
He appealed to Telugu Desam party workers to stay calm. He asked them to send letters to the AP seeking early release of Chandrababu Naidu.
