KC(M), BDJS will back Left, says Saji Cherian

The LDF candidate paid floral tributes to various martyrs' columns in Chengannur before filing his nomination papers.

Alappuzha: LDF candidate Saji Cherian on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Chengannur Assembly by-poll. CPM central committee member M.V. Govindan, CPM district acting secretary R. Nazar, LDF election committee president K.S. Ravi and secretary P. Viswambara Panicker accompanied  Mr Cherian, who submitted his papers to returning officer and revenue divisional officer,  M. V. Suresh Kumar,  at 11.30 a.m.

Earlier,  Mr Cherian paid  floral tributes to various martyrs’ columns in Chengannur,  including at  the resting place of the late MLA K.K. Ramachandran Nair. He came to the RDO’s office along with a procession  of CPM supporters from the home of Ramachandran Nair.

Mr Cherian told reporters  that the people of  Chengannur wanted  the LDF to win.   “The workers of Kerala Congress (M) and BDJS will cast votes for the LDF.   Chengannur needs the developmental projects launched by K.K. Ramachandran Nair,’’ he said.  His deposit amount was donated by a CPM worker, Ponmeli Pallath P.K. Gopalakrishna Pillai.
