KCR lacks sympathy, says Chugh
BJP TS in-charge calls for NIA or CBI probe into gangrape
Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, led by its national general secretary and Telangana state in-charge, Tarun Chugh, launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, calling him as a person without a shred of sympathy or sensitivity, and not having time even to spare a few words of comfort for the 17-year-old girl who was a victim of a gangrape in Jubilee Hills, in which sons of political leaders now stand accused.
Chugh said nothing less than a National Investigation Agency, or a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the Jubilee Hills rapecase will do. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government, and state police were focused on watering down the case, save the rapists and their fathers who are influential politicians, he said.
“It is ‘jungle raj’ in Telangana. The state government has proved itself to be incompetent. There is no evidence of law and order, and an atmosphere of fear has engulfed women and girls. The Chief Minister, in his farm house, cannot spare a few minutes to express sympathy for the victim, but is busy perpetrating dynastic rule in the state. His son is busy on Twitter, and there are no signs of a Home Minister,” Chugh told reporters.
Saying he was “shocked” at the series of rapes of minor girls in Hyderabad over the past few days, Chugh added: “Telangana state instead of being a protector, has turned into a predator of its own people.”
Chugh said had the BJP not taken the lead in the fight for justice for the gangraped minor girl, the truth would not have come out. “The K. Chandrashekar Rao government is deaf and blind to facts, and is only focused on protecting its leaders and those close to it,” Chugh said.
