Mahabubabad: Confusion is prevailing within Congress party and its leaders on the route map of the Haath Se Haath Jodo (HSHJ) yatra being undertaken by TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy in erstwhile Warangal district.

Revanth had been expected to proceed to Narsampet after completing the HSHJ padayatra in Mulugu district. But lack of coordination from Narsampet assembly segment in-charge Donthi Madhava Reddy led to the Narsampet leg getting cancelled and the yatra entering Mahabubabad district.

As a result, several second rung leaders and party activists faced disappointment after enthusiastically turning up in Mulugu district to participate in the Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra along with the TPCC chief.

Incidentally, BRS party leaders had created hurdles when YSR-TP chief Sharmila had in the past arrived for undertaking padayatra in Narsampet. BRS activists even set fire to the YSR-TP bus and flexies over Sharmila’s comments against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members.

It is learnt from party sources that fearing similar scenes in Narsampet owing to anti-KCR comments of Revanth Reddy and his threat to blast Pragathi Bhavan, Madhava Reddy backed out from making arrangements for HSHJ in Narsampet constituency.

As feared by Madhava Reddy, BRS leaders took out a mock funeral procession of an effigy of the TPCC chief. They burnt the effigy after staging a dharna at the main chowrasta in Narsampet town against comments of Revanth. They threatened to obstruct Revanth’s yatra if it entered Narsampet division.

However, Madhava Reddy, along with party activists, in a face-saving gesture, took out a padayatra through Keshavapur village in Duggondi mandal of Narsampet division as per schedule fixed for Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra of Revanth Reddy.
