Bengaluru: Social activist Abraham T.J. on Friday filed a private complaint in the Lokayukta Special Court in connection with three cases, including the one in which the chief minister and PWD minister were gifted Hublot watches worth Rs 45 lakh each.

The complaint has been filed against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, PWD Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, Executive Engineer PWD deputed to BDA and In-Charge of Kempegowda Layout, L. Raghu, KSPCB chairman Lakshman, consultant cardiac surgeon at NMC Specialty Hospital in Dubai Dr Girish Chandra Verma, and smuggled goods trader at National Market in Majestic Karan.

“Sanction for Prosecution against Raghu was pending with the government since October 20, 2014. As part of the illegal agreement between the accused, the file of L. Raghu was to be placed before the cabinet and the Sanction for Prosecution was to be denied by the cabinet, for which the Hublot watches were just pleasant icing on the cake, because Raghu was already working as an agent of the chief minister and collecting illegal funds for him through illegal transactions in the BDA along with the KSPCB Chairman Lakshman.

As a result, it is submitted that the CM has received one Hublot watch worth Rs 45 lakh as a bribe/an illegal gratification to place the file of Raghu before the cabinet with intent to help him escape from prospective prosecution and deny the request of the sanction for prosecution sought for by the Lokayukta against him,” the complaint stated.
