Hyderabad: “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao who spoke eloquently about Dharani should meet the people and then talk about its merits. The CM should hold a praja darbar if he is sincere in solving the issues with the website,” said former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao.

Citing an instance of misuse of the website, he said, “Five hundred acres of land belonging to one Rajkrishna Reddy were distributed to the poor in 1981. As the value of lands increased because of the outer ring road (ORR) which passes close by, the lands were transferred onto the name of his daughter’s in law. Though there is evidence that the revenue authorities helped them in the process, the government is not taking action in the issue, the senior Congress leader said.

Citing the problems being faced by farmers because of Dharani he said he had written a letter on behalf of the Congress seeking its removal. But there has been no effect of it. “The government is benefitting the rich at the cost of the poor using the website,” he said.

The double bed room houses instead of being given to the poor are being given to the workers of the BRS and those who are better off and are undeserving, he added.
