HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the BRS government was not cooperating with the Centre for the development of Telangana state.

“All BJP MPs from the state urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release funds for development of the state. MMTS services have been extended to the suburbs, including Medchal, with full funding by the central government,” he explained.

Addressing a public meeting at Parade Ground here on Saturday, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke, Kishan Reddy said that the second phase works of MMTS were halted as the state government was not cooperating, he alleged. It was on the pleas of the state BJP Members of Parliament that Modi released funds, he said.

“We started 14 MMTS services in the city. In keeping with the aspirations of every Hindu who wishes to visit Tirupati for a darshan of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy, the Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Tirupati has been launched by the Prime Minister,” Reddy said.

Modernisation of Secunderabad railway station with an estimated cost of '700 crore will meet the requirements of passengers for the next 40 years, he said, adding that the Mahbubnagar route has now been made a double railway line.

Kishan Reddy thanked Modi for sanctioning '7,864 crore for developing national highways and laying the foundation stone for AIIMS at Bibinagar. He appealed to the people to extend their support to the Modi government, which was prioritising their welfare.

Railway minister Ashwani Vaishnav said that '4,000 crore was allotted for Telangana state in the railway budget, which was in tune with Modi’s slogan ‘Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikas’.
