HYDERABAD: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi once again raked up the issue of Junaid and Nasir who were allegedly burnt to death in Haryana in February by right wing leaders after being accused of cow smuggling in Rajasthan.

Responding to concerns expressed by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar about an Indian student hailing from Gurugram being disqualified for an election at the London School of Economics, the Hyderabad MP felt that Khattar was more worried about UK’s development than his own state’s law and order problem.

Khattar had said that he was personally pursuing the matter of disqualification of the student, Karan Kataria, who has claimed that he was a victim a smear campaign against his Hindu and Indian identity.

Reacting to this, Owaisi asked the Haryana CM to bring to book those behind the murder of Junaid and Nasir. “Haryana CM is more worried about a boy’s election in a London college than he is about Junaid and Nasir being burnt to death in his state. The terrorists who did this had state patronage. It’s been over a month, only one accused has been arrested,” Owaisi tweeted.

Earlier on Friday, Owaisi while reiterating that his party did not represent B-Team of the BJP, an oft made accusation by rivals, held that he remained steadfast in supporting the weak. “I am A-Team of the poor and deprived. No power in the world can buy me,” he said, during Jalsa Youm-ul-Quran held at a mosque in Shaikpet.

He targeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his failure to control communal violence during the Sri Rama Navami processions. Ridiculing the claims by Nitish Kumar of being secular, Owaisi felt that the way madarsas were attacked and copies of the Qurans burnt smacked of the Bihar CM’s attitude towards the minorities. “Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav want to create fear among Muslims in Bihar,” he added.
