FIR against Heggadadevana Kote legislator

According to the data with the department of personnel and training (DoPT), only 153 IAS officers were appointed on Central deputation under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) in 2018-19, as compared to 247 during 2016-17, 320 in 2015-16, and 340 in 2014-15.

Mysuru: The Bilikere police have filed an FIR under Sections 143, 147 and 353 of the IPC against Heggadadevana Kote Congress legislator Anil Chikkamadu and Mysuru District Congress Committee president Dr B.J. Vijaykumar for allegedly obstructing the police from doing their duty at Hosaramenahalli in Hunsur taluk during the byelection on Thursday.

“On Thursday, over 500 people of Hosaramenahalli protested when the police reportedly tried to stop Congress leader and Heggadadevana Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu from interacting with party workers outside a polling booth after casting his vote at his native Hosa Ramenahalli village. Later Mr Chikkamadu alleged misuse of power by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, with his supporters insisting that the police apologise to him. Mysuru Assistant Superintendent of Police Sneha and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunder Raj intervened and the crowd dispersed,” Dr Vijaykumar stated.
