KAKINADA: Prathipadu MLA Parvatha Purnachandra Prasad is caught up in a controversy over his remarks made during the ‘Gadapa-Gadapaku’ programme at Annavaram. The MLA told the beneficiaries at Annavaram that the YSRC government had given pensions and granted house sites to them and also given several benefits.

“You are taking pensions and house sites. You should vote for him in the coming elections. If you don’t vote for a fan symbol, these benefits will be withdrawn,” he told the beneficiaries. The video clip of this went viral. After this, the YSRC leaders stepped in for damage control on Friday and issued a denial at Annavaram, saying that the MLA had not made those remarks.
