VIJAYAWADA: Rebel Telugu Desam leader Kodela Sivaram, son of former Speaker Sivaprasada Rao, started an ‘Intintiki Kodela’ mass contact programme in Sattenapalli, as he is peeved over the selection of former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana as TD’s constituency in charge.

Sivaram had criticised the top leadership of TD including Chandrababu Naidu, saying they were not giving even a five-minute audience to him and his mother. The family was also upset as no obituary reference was made at the recent party Mahanadu, by way of homage to the deceased Sivaprasada Rao who was with the party ever since its inception.

Senior TD leaders Nakka Anandababu, G.V. Anjaneyulu and Dolabala Veeranjaneya Swamy had gone to Sattenapalli and held conciliatory talks with Sivaram but it failed to yield results.

Sivaram announced that he will contest from Sattenapalli even as an independent candidate if the TD failed to give him a ticket.

Sivaram suspects the party would field Lakshminarayana as the TD candidate in the coming assembly polls from Sattenapalli to attract Kapu and Kamma votes.

Earlier, the TD had conducted an ‘Intintiki TD’ house-to-house mass contact programme, on the toes of which now, Sivaram started the ‘Intintiki Kodela’ mass interaction programme. He went to every house in Gogulapadu, interacted with village elders and donated ₹50,000 to a church in the village through the Kodela Charitable Trust.

Sivaram claimed he is getting a good response to the mass contact programme and will continue the same in all villages, towns and cities of the Sattenapalli constituency.
