Puducherry: The Twitter account of Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi was hacked on Tuesday, allegedly by pro-Pakistani Turkish hackers. The hackers also posted a message on Bedi's account, claiming that social media accounts around the world were at risk of being compromised unless "an embargo" imposed on them was removed. " We are protesting the continuous closure of our social media accounts! As long as you do not remove the embargo that you apply to us, all social media users around the world are at risk!", the message read.

In a WhatsApp message to the media, Kiran Bedi said, "my Twitter account has been hacked." Ms Bedi told DC that she was on a flight to Indore and got to know that her Twitter account was hacked only when she switched on the phone on landing. "There were concerns on my Whatsapp messages as what kind of terror messages were coming from my Twitter account. I could not even log on to my personal account. The user name has also been hacked," Ms Bedi told Deccan Chronicle
