MK Stalin, TNCC chief condemn attack on Rahul Gandhi's vehicle

VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan said the incident should be condemned all the leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chennai: DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Saturday condemned the attack on Rahul Gandhi's vehicle in Gujarat when he visited the state to inspect the flood damage. TNCC leader S. Thirunavukkarasar, along with hundreds of party cadre were arrested when they held a road blockade protest condemning the attack on their leader. Stalin in his tweet said the democratic rights of a political party could not be cowed down by violence.

Thirunavukkarasar, who took part in the party women's wing protest against cancellation of subsidy for cooking gas cylinders, he along with former TNCC president Kumari Anandan, former MP Viswanathan and other cadre blocked the road near Valluvar kottak leading to heavy traffic congestion in the area. The protest continued for about half an hour and police arrested them.

Earlier, speaking in the protest demonstration, Thirunavukkarasar described the attack on Rahul as brutal and alleged that the Gujarat government is functioning in an anti-democratic manner.
