Chennai: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi might have stolen the show when he sardonically remarked that “nowadays I study the Upanishads and the Gita since I am fighting the RSS and BJP,” but it appears that it is the BJP that might end up having the last laugh.

Rahul Gandhi’s remark after he took part in 94th birthday celebration of DMK chief M. Karunanidhi in Chennai seems to have won spontaneous appreciation from the Comrades. But it nevertheless, triggered a war of words on the micro blogging site between CPI (M) MP T.K. Rangarajan and BJP national secretary
H. Raja.

“I Am Reading Upanishads, Gita To Take On RSS, BJP: Rahul Gandhi Its good,” tweeted T.K. Rangarajan. Reacting to it, Raja remarked, “if he fully understands them, he will join RSS.”

Rahul had also said that the BJP does not fundamentally “understand India,” and “understands only Nagpur,” headquarters of the RSS. To another tweet by Rangarajan that “Discipline-: CPM suspends RS member Ritavrata MP for ‘flashy lifestyle.’ This is our party,” Raja retorted, “What about MM Mani who called Tamil women in Idukki as prostitutes sir.”
