Strong pro-Congress wave in Karnataka, says party working president
Kalaburgai: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Ramalinga Reddy claimed that there is a strong pro-Congress wave in the state, due to which several leaders from other parties expressing their willingness to join the Congress.
During his visit to Kalaburagi on Wednesday, Reddy told reporters that several BJP leaders, unhappy with infighting and nepotism within the party, are knocking on the doors of Congress.
He claimed that many MLAs from the JD(S) have also expressed interest in joining Congress.
Reddy cited the example of former BJP MLA of Kudligi, N Y Gopalakrishna, who has switched to the Congress after resigning from his post.
He criticized the BJP government for lack of development work in the state, which he claimed had led to rise in unemployment, poverty, and inflation.
