RSS with its 6000 shakhas to up ante ahead of polls

Thiruvananthapuram: The RSS has got more than 6000 shakhas in Kerala, which is the largest in the country. But despite its massive strength, it could never take advantage of it. This time, the central leadership is firm that they should fight together to win at least three Lok Sabha seats.

RSS is holding All India Prathinidhi Sabha in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, with workers from districts. The RSS works silently, not seeking any form of publicity.

RSS state secretary P.  Gopalan Kutty Master told DC that there is no particular situation in RSS to work diligently. “We have always been undertaking door to door rigorous campaign across the state which is a permanent setup. It will be aggressive this time”, he said.

On Wednesday, organising general secretary, Ramlal, will be in the capital city convening the core committee meeting of the State BJP leadership on the LS election preparations including the candidature.

He had held a high-level meeting of the four South Indian States in Bengaluru on Tuesday on the election preparations.

P. K. Krishnadas, former BJP state president, said that their USP this time would be the winnability factor where the coalition politics under NDA would be presented before them convincingly.

“Also, we will ensure that the voters don’t take the BJP for granted,” he told DC.

“Apart from the superficial campaigning, BJP will be giving thrust to door to door campaigning highlighting the local, regional and national issues. Paramount importance is to win the maximum number of seats.”
