Hyderabad: If the Congress repeats its Assembly poll performance in the Lok Sabha polls, which are just four months away, it could win nine seats in the Lower House of Parliament compared to the three it won in 2019.

According to data in the Assembly polls, the Congress’ vote share has increased significantly in the nine Lok Sabha seats of Peddapalli, Zaheerabad, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Bhongir, Warangal, Mahbubabad and Khammam. It has won 52 of the seats on offer in these constituencies.

Of the 17 Lok Sabha in Telangana. the BRS won nine in 2019, the BJP four, the Congress three, and AIMIM the Hyderabad seat. The Congress won Malkajgiri, Nalgonda, and Bhongir Lok Sabha seats of which the first is represented by TPCC president and Chief Minister-elect A. Revanth Reddy.

The BRS secured more votes in the Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, and Chevella seats. The MIM remained unchallenged in the Assembly segments under the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Interestingly, the BJP, which won four Lok Sabha seats in 2019, failed to secure the highest votes in any of them this time. The BJP won Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Adilabad but the BRS secured the most votes in all these Lok Sabha constituencies.
