Hyderabad: TRS leaders said the BJP was communalising politics its Liberation Day yatras, They said the yatras were being held to impress the high command which had ignored the TS unit.

TRS MP Balka Suman, Council Whip Bodakunti Venkateswarlu and  MLC K. Srinivasa Reddy while speaking to mediapersons on Monday accused the BJP of dividing society in the name of religion. They said it was a “big regional party of North India”  which did not have a base in the rest of India, especially the south. They said Mr Bandaru Dattatreya had been removed from the Council of Ministers as it knew it had no base in TS.

On the BJP demand to celebrate Liberation Day as a state event, TRS leaders said with the formation of Telangana State on June 2, 2014, there is no necessity to celebrate September 17.

Mr Suman said the BJP’s attempt to divide society would not work as long as Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was at the helm.
