VIJAYAWADA: In anticipation of early polls, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has called upon the party leaders and activists to work hard and grab power in AP by dethroning the ruling YSRC government.

Addressing the party leaders and activists at the party office at Mangalagiri on Friday, Pawan Kalyan said, “We will contest the elections with the sole aim of winning power. We will not adopt the strategy of the 2019 polls but come up with a stronger political strategy. We will get the reports of poll surveys and then plan our strategy accordingly. If our party stands first in a particular segment, we will strengthen it more. Where we stand in the second position, we will plan to reach the first position by working hard. Where we are in the third position, we will work in coordination with others to strengthen the party to reach the second position.”

Some leaders who can’t get even 10,000 votes want to become leaders. None will vote if such leaders stand by my side. We need leaders who can work with the people and get a minimum of 10,000 votes. I also advise Jana Sena leaders to spend money for party activists and make them work hard to enable us to win power. I do not ask any of our leaders to offer money to the voters to get their votes in the elections.”

Underlining the importance of having new leadership in any party, he felt the need to give opportunities to youngsters to become leaders. “Leaders must always be like a student, keep learning new things to provide good governance.”

He said that after the YSRC assumed power, the common people were getting terrified even to think about politics as the ruling party was involved in corruption, threat and irregularities. “If anyone questioned the government on irregularities, he or she was being implicated in cases, some were murdered and in some cases, such people were missing.”

He called upon the party leaders and supporters to get prepared for the Varahi Vijaya Yatra in Visakhapatnam from August 10.

The Jana Sena chief called upon all those who believed in democracy to condemn the developments in Punganur, where the YSRC supporters pelted stones and destroyed vehicles to obstruct the visit of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
