KCR vows to transform Sircilla into tourist hub

He inaugurated nursing college, international driving school for heavy vehicles and research centre along with the collectorate complex

KARIMNAGAR: With Mid-Manair Reservoir on one side and Upper-Manair Reservoir on the other, Sircilla was going to be transformed into a tourist hub, assured Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao during his visit to Rajanna Sircilla district on Sunday.

The Chief Minister inaugurated various institutions and 2BHK houses costing around Rs 210 crore in the district. He first inaugurated 2BHK houses and then a nursing college and an international driving school for heavy vehicles and research centre along with the collectorate complex during his visit to Rajanna Sircilla district.

After receiving a grand welcome from TRS workers and leaders, Chandrashekar Rao reached Mandepally village and inaugurated about 1,320 2BHKs constructed at a cost of `80 crore in Thangallapally mandal under Sircilla constituency.

He inaugurated the Institute of Drivers and Training and Research (IDTR) constructed in about one acre of land at a cost of Rs 16.48 crore with advanced super technology on the outskirts of Mandepally village.

He then inaugurated a nursing college in Sircilla constructed in 5 acres of land at a cost of Rs 36.45 crore and interacted with the students and staff members and also inquired about the education provided in the institute and the facilities that were arranged.

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated the modern agriculture market yard in Sarjapur constructed on 25 acres of land at a cost of Rs 22 crore.

After receiving police honours, Chandrashekar Rao, accompanied by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar inaugurated the new collectorate complex constructed in about 80 acres of land at a cost of `70 crore with G+3 structure.

Chandrashekar Rao kept off politics and spoke only about the development which is taking place in the district and concluded his speech in a meeting organised on the occasion.

He said with the blessings of Vemulawada Anjanna, the developmental works were going at a brisk pace in the region. An action plan was prepared for not only developing the famous Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple but also to increase its standards, he added.

Like that of Rythu Bhima, a scheme would be introduced very soon for handloom workers through which they would get an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs, he assured. The Chief Minister said that as per his promise of sanctioning of pension to persons crossed 57 years of age, the government was going to sanction the amount to all beneficiaries from next month.  

He said the government would sanction everything that IT minister K.T. Rama Rao promised this year itself except the medical college. Later, he assured that he would take initiative for sanctioning of medical and engineering colleges to the district next year. He also assured an increase of stipend to Rs 5,000 to first-year nursing students and Rs 7,000 to second-year students.

Speaking about the Coronavirus, the Chief Minister said that the virus had disturbed the lives of many families. The only method to prevent the disease was to take care of oneself, he said. Keeping in view of past and present experiences, the state government had taken a decision to upgrade the healthcare system in the state with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore, the Chief Minister said.

He also directed the sarpanches to implement the Palle Pragathi and Haritha Haram programmes perfectly and make them a huge success by planting several kinds of saplings.

Half of the diseases the people are suffering from can be avoided with the Haritha Haram programme, as the plants gave fresh air to them, the Chief Minister said, adding that people might have noticed that many suffered due to non-availability of oxygen during the second wave of Coronavirus. Haritha Haram was the best solution to get fresh air, he suggested.
