Hyderabad: AP Special Representative Kambhampati Rammohan Rao, speaking about the  guardroom, told this correspondent: “I had asked my engineer to construct a wooden room, but since during monsoon there was a possibility of rain falling inside, the engineer constructed a pucca room. The GHMC staff visited my place in the morning regarding the guardroom. In fact I had instructed my staff to demolish it.”

Asked if this was not selective demolition when there were other encroachments, an officer said the GHMC had demolished over 80 illegal buildings, mostly in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur.
