Some of the counting staff as well as agents of different parties faced some problem because of lack of drinking water at the counting centres.

Nizamabad: Ruling TRS party candidates won in a majority of ZPTC and MPTC seats in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts on Tuesday. Of 27 ZPTCs in Nizamabad district, TRS candidates were elected in 23 seats and Congress, BJP candidates were elected in two ZPTCs each. Of 299 MPTCs, TRS candidates were elected in 186 seats, the Congress and BJP won 46 and 34 seats respectively. Independent candidates got elected in 33 seats in Nizamabad district.

Counting of votes began in Nizamabad, Bodhan and Munipally (Armoor) revenue divisions on Tuesday morning. Under tight police security, the ballot papers were counted in the prescribed tables. The counting process was completed by afternoon for the MPTC elections and ZPTCs counting began soon after.
District collector and election officer M. Rammohan Rao visited counting centres and directed officials for smooth and transparent completion of the counting. Counting staff, counting agents and contesting candidates were allowed into the counting centres. Counting staff and agents faced inconvenience due to the lack of drinking water and food arrangements in Nizamabad and Armoor.

In Kamareddy district, TRS won in 14 ZPTC seats and Congress won in eight seats. In MPTC results, 149 TRS candidates, 61 Congress candidates, BJP 04 and 22 Independent candidates were elected. District collector N.Satyanarayana and election observer Abhilash Bisth visited counting centres in the district.

Following the victory in Panchayat Raj elections, celebrations erupted in the TRS party. MLAs Bigala Ganesh Gupta, Bajireddy Govardhan, MLC VG Goud, mayor Akula Sujatha and others took part in the celebrations here at MLA camp office in Subhashnagar. Party activists burst fire crackers on the occasion.
