Mysuru: After progressive thinkers, poets and Sandalwood stars, it was the turn of Bollywood stars and some more from the Sandalwood fraternity to bat for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari on Friday.

Bollywood star and Rajya Sabha MP Mr Raj Babbar, Sandalwood producer cum director Mr Rajendra Singh Babu, his daughter Rishika Singh and actor Madan Patel campaigned for Siddaramaiah at Bharathnagar in Chamundeshwari.

Mr Raj Babbar said, “People of Varuna and Chamundeshwari constituencies are like CM Siddaramaiah’s own family. One one hand, PM Narendra Modi speaks of Mr H.D. Deve Gowda (JD-S supremo) and then Deve Gowda  speaks of Mr Modi. It is like saying you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. The indication is very clear- they are planning to join hands to form a government together.”

“The Siddaramaiah government remains closes to the poor and comes up with pro-poor, pro-minority and  pro-youth measures. But BJP leaders sit in a five-star hotel to come up with their manifesto. People in Uttar Pradesh are facing problems due to sudden rains and storm and yet UP CM Mr Yogi Adithyanath comes here as the star campaigner of the BJP. People won't vote for the BJP if he campaigns here,”  he said.
