Congress MLAs to highlight plight of SCs, STs in slums

HYDERABAD: CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced on Saturday that Congress MLAs would visit slums in the city to highlight the ‘pathetic living conditions’ of SC and ST families.

Speaking to mediapersons at Assembly premises on Sunday, Bhatti said the CLP team would take their problems to the notice of the state government.

“The City of Hyderabad whose achievements are overhyped has localities with meagre facilities. These areas where SCs and STs reside have no good educational or medical facilities. Political parties which claim to be following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi should at least now give priority to providing better amenities in Dalit and Girijan bastis,” he demanded. Bhatti reiterated that under BJP rule, socioeconomic divisions have widened.
