14th Kerala Assembly session will begin from tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: The 11th session of the 14th Kerala  Assembly  will begin on  Monday and end on June 21. Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan told reporters here that the session was  dedicated to lawmaking and 17 ordinances will be made into laws. The business advisory committee will, however, take a call on whether to increase the length of the session. As per the present schedule,  June 14 and 15 will be holidays.    The   current Assembly which completed two years on Saturday has set a record  in the number of days it has met, said Mr Sreeramakrishnan. June 13 has been set apart  for discussion and voting on supplementary demands for grants.

The business for the first two days has been decided.  On June 4, the House would discuss  the Kerala Municipality  (Amendment) Bill 2018, Kerala Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill 2018 and Kerala Municipality (second amendment) Bill 2018. On June 5, the Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University (Amendment) Bill 2018, Kerala University (Amendment) Bill, 2018 and Kerala University (Alternative arrangement temporarily of senate and syndicate) Bill 2018 will be presented. It was for the business advisory committee to decide on the schedule of presenting further Bills, said Mr Sreeramakrishnan.
