Congress legislator K. Muraleedharan and his sister are in fray for the Kerala polls.

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP has lodged a complaint with the central election commission against Congress leader and Vattiyoorkavu sitting MLA K. Muraleedharan that he hid in his affidavit a loan of Rs 2.28 crore on his shelved television channel, Janapriya.

BJP spokesperson J. R. Padmakumar alleged that the returning officer in Vattiyoorkavu was resorting to a political game by rejecting the BJP’s complaint.
He claimed that Mr Muraleedharan had received a bank loan of Rs 2.28 crore for the stillborn channel against company laws which was missing in his affidavit.

“Moreover, there is proof that he had received Rs 16.85 lakh towards rent which has also not been included. Despite BJP pointing out the discrepancies, the returning officer acted in his favour,” he said. He also alleged that Muraleedharan had resorted to fraudulent act in the name of the television channel to the tune of Rs 8 crore which is under probe as per a complaint of shareholders.
