KAKINADA: Tourism minister R.K. Roja threatened that the tongue of any person criticising or condemning Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy or his family members will be cut off. “Salt and chilli powder will be applied to the wound,” she told media on Saturday.

The minister accused Telugu Desam Party of needlessly criticising Jagan Mohan Reddy. She maintained that as everything is going on well in Andhra Pradesh, TDP leaders have no other choice but to criticise YSRC or CM.

But the launching personal attacks against Jagan and his family members just cannot be tolerated, Roja maintained while issuing the threat to TD leaders.

Roja participated in Dasara Women Empowerment celebrations organised by the State Women’s Commission at Subrahmanya Grounds in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday. She said Jagan is making efforts to empower women in all sectors. 83 percent of schemes are being implemented for the welfare and empowerment of women, she pointed out.

B.C. welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna and State Women’s Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma were among those present at the celebrations.

On the day, women set out in a procession on motorbikes from Arts College Grounds to Subrahmanya Maidanam. Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat flagged off the procession.
