Hyderabad: AICC secretary in-charge for Telangana V. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday alleged that the KCR government was harping on the implementation the Rythu Bandhu scheme to support the farmers in the state, but the other hand it was harassing the farmers.

Speaking to media in Huzurabad on Wedne-day, Mr Hanumantha Rao alleged that farmer Rajaiah was handcuffed for asking for an error-free Pattadar pass book. He asked the director general of police (DGP) to explain the crime committed by Mr Rajaiah for handcuffing him.

Promising that the Congress would stand by Mr Rajaiah, Mr Hanumantha Rao said his party, which ruled the county for decades, has no history of handcuffing farmers.

Reacting to IT minister K.T. Rama Rao’s comment that the TRS would fight alone in the next general elections and that the lion would come out alone, Mr Hanumantha Rao said the minister might have forgotten that his father K. Chandrasekhar Rao touched the feet of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi when he made the remark. Mr Hanumantha Rao also alleged that the TRS government was hijacking the festivals in the state.
