Kerala government transfers 26 IAS officers in major rejig

Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF Government on Wednesday carried a major shake-up in state bureaucracy transferring and posting as many as 26 IAS officers across many departments.

P.H. Kurien who has been shifted out from IT department will continue as principal Secretary, Industries. M Sivasankar, secretary to chief minister is the new IT secretary.

Dr. K.M Abraham will continue as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance. While several heads rolled, the new government did not shift Abraham who has been managing the state’s finances. Despite profligacy and mismanagement at the level of political executive, Abraham has been able to insulate the finance department from a major melt down. However, social justice has been taken away from him and given to A Shahjahan.

Raju Narayana Swamy who was sidelined by the UDF Government, was posted Agriculture secretary. Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar was keen to have him in his department.

GAD secretary K. R. Jyotilal has been given Transport and Devaswom. Dr. Usha Titus  is Secretary GAD, Information and Public Relations and NORKA. Paul Antony, Additional Chief Secretary, Power and Chairman  & MD KSEB.
