BENGALURU: Though an official announcement of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections is yet to be made public by the Congress party, its president D.K. Shivakumar on Thursday stated that “almost all sitting MLAs of the party would get tickets to fight the election.”

Speaking with presspersons, he said “our MLAs have done a good job despite the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s non-cooperation to develop their constituencies. Our MLAs have been with the people and worked for them. They will be getting tickets.”

A meeting to finalise the candidates will be held and the list will be forwarded to the Central Committee which will announce the candidates after scrutiny, he said.
