Medak: The next five years are crucial for Telangana and it is imperative for people to vote for BRS as the state is poised to emerge as a powerhouse for development, Finance minister T. Harish Rao said. Addressing a meeting of BRS workers and leaders in Chinna Shankarampet of Narsingi mandal on Wednesday, Harish Rao said “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has made Telangana a model state for India. Irrespective of how many tricks the other parties will play, we will score a hat-trick. By ensuring a BRS’ win, we can develop the state even more and turn it into an example for the rest of the world on how governments should be run.”

Rao said agriculture in Telangana has turned into a festival with good crops, and there has been improved health care and government programmes like Rythu Bandhu, which the Chief Minister has said will be increased to Rs 16,000 a year from the current Rs 10,000 for each acre and continuous power supply to farmers.

He also said that Karnataka deputy chief minister D.K. Shivakumar on his recent visit to Telangana said they were giving five hours of power to farmers. This should make it clear about the plans the Congress party has for farmers in Telangana. The Congress state chief is already saying that three hours of power supply is enough for farmers.

Earlier, Harish Rao welcomed Congress leader M. Rammohan Reddy into the BRS at an event in LB Nagar. He said that Goud was a leader, who took active part in the statehood movement, and his joining the BRS will further strengthen the party in the constituency.

“He was instrumental in ensuring wins of 11 BRS corporators in the last GHMC elections,” he said.
