No place for tainted in yatra, says V D Satheesan
He lashed out at the CPM-BJP nexus in the state.
Kozhikode: Congress leader V.D. Satheesan MLA has asserted that his party would ensure no tainted person got into the ‘Padayorukkam’ roadshow beginning from the northern border town of Uppala on Wednesday. “There is reliable information that deliberate attempts would be made to put such tainted persons in the Yatra to tarnish Congress party and the rally,” he told a press conference here on Tuesday.
He was responding to a query on the controversy surrounding the ruling coalition's Jana Jagratha Yatra that CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan leads after he led a roadshow in Koduvally in a gold smuggler's vehicle. “None other than the official designated leaders of Congress will be on stage. Only listed people can garland the Yatra leader, Ramesh Chennithala throughout the rally,” he said.
He lashed out at the CPM-BJP nexus in the state. “Shielding Kummanam Rajasekharan from corruption charges and the warm reception the Union minister Alphons Kannanthanam receives underline it,” he said. He alleged that LDF government was misusing advocate general’s office to save the tainted transport minister Thomas Chandy.
