PM Modi Plans Six Visits to Poll-Bound Bihar
Assembly elections are slated for October-November.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to undertake six visits to Bihar in the run-up to the Assembly elections slated for October-November to boost the BJP’s prospects. Mr Modi’s latest visit is scheduled for May 29-30, during which he will be visiting Patna and Bikramganj in Rohtas district to lead rallies and inaugurate projects.
Earlier, Mr Modi had visited the poll-bound state last month, just two days after the Pahalgam terror attack. Addressing a rally in Madhubani on April 24, the Prime Minister declared that the terror targets in Pakistan will be decimated. The May 29-30 visit will be his first visit after the launch of Operation Sindoor to destroy terror targets in Pakistan and PoK.
The Prime Minister will lead a mega roadshow in Patna on Thursday, during which he will be felicitated for the success of Operation Sindoor.
The roadshow will traverse key points in Patna, including the high court and the income-tax office. Mr Modi will be felicitated at 32 places on the route.
During his visit to the state, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal of the Patna airport, besides laying the foundation stone for a new airport at Bihta on the outskirts of the city. Later, he will visit the party office in the state capital and will hold a meeting with the Bihar BJP leadership.
In Patna, Mr Modi will lay the foundation stones of major infrastructure projects worth several thousand crores. ”The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of a four-lane access-controlled Patna–Arrah–Sasaram road that will be developed in hybrid annuity mode at a total capital cost of `3,712.40 crores,” sources said.
On Friday, the second day of his visit, Mr Modi will launch several projects at Bikramganj in Rohtas district, where he will also address a rally.
The upcoming visit beginning Thursday will be Mr Modi’s third visit to the state in the past four months. Earlier, he had visited Madhubani and Bhagalpur on February 24 and unveiled projects worth several thousand crores.
“During his two-day visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate developmental projects worth several thousand crore. Till the announcement of the polls schedule, Mr Modi is expected to make four to five more visits to the state,” a party insider said, adding that he will visit the state again on June 20.
