Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 scheduled to be held from September 8 to 11 in Mumbai. It will be a third year in a row; the PM will attend this event.

Touted to be the world’s largest Fintech conference, the theme of this year’s fest is “Potential to Impact: Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance,” with three technology pillars: Agentic AI, Tokenisation, and Quantum, forming the foundation of the conference agenda.

Stalwarts of the global fintech ecosystem are expected to converge at the conference, organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).

Among other luminaries who will address GFF 2026 are Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs; Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways; Sanjay Malhotra, Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI); Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI); Dr. Sivasubramanian Ramann, Chairperson, PFRDA, and Nandan Nilekani, Chairman, Infosys.

With participation from over 70 countries, GFF 2026 will feature an expected footfall of over one lakh, over 5,000 participating companies, over 700 speakers, over 400 investors and over 350 exhibitors. It will also include keynote addresses, regulatory dialogues, industry deliberations and policy and business roundtables. Besides various speaking sessions, there will be a large exhibition of the latest fintech innovations and solutions, startup showcases, workshops and hackathons.

Among leading speakers from other countries are Caroline Abel, Governor, Central Bank of Seychelles; Pablo Hernández de Cos, General Manager, Bank for International Settlements (BIS); Valerie Szczepanik, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Dr. Innocent Matshe, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Speaking on the objective and vision of the conference, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chair, GFF2026, said, “Over hundreds of sessions leading policymakers, regulators, central bankers, industry captains and other stakeholders of the fintech ecosystem will deliberate on shaping trusted and connected global systems for inclusive finance, keeping into consideration how three foundational technologies – agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum – are transforming the sector.”
