Police warn people against sharing security related content online in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday warned people against sharing any content related to security deployment, operational movements or sensitive locations on social media platforms from here. "All citizens of district Jammu are strictly advised not to share, upload, or circulate any content related to security deployments, operational movements or sensitive locations on social media or any other public platforms. Such actions pose a serious threat to public safety and national security, and will attract strict legal action under relevant laws," police said in an advisory.

Pak shelling kills 12 civilians in J&K's Poonch; nearly 60 are injured

At least 12 residents, including two women and four children were killed, and nearly 60 others injured as Pakistani troops targeted Indian forward positions and civilian areas at several places along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir with heavy artillery fire early on Wednesday. A report put the toll at 14.

The pounding with 122 mm artillery guns and other variants left a trail of destruction with several houses reduced to rubble from Poonch to Uri sector in Baramulla district to Karnah-Keran in neighbouring Kupwara. It also prompted hundreds of families living near the de facto border to abandon their homes and relocate to safer places. Some defence installations also suffered damage, the reports said.

Nine public shelter camps set up in J-K's Poonch: Official after heavy Pak shelling

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district have designated nine public shelter camps with adequate amenities for the people desirous to relocate from the forward villages hit by Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control, an official said on Wednesday.As many as 12 persons were killed and over 50 others injured in heavy shelling by Pakistan in Poonch district on Wednesday after India Indian armed forces carried out missile attacks on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the April 22 terror attack in south Kashmir's Pahalgam that had left 26 civilians, mostly tourists, dead.
