Over 34.98 lakh odisha farmers benefit from PM-KISAN Scheme

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to the farming community, over 34.98 lakh farmers in Odisha have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, according to state agriculture secretary Arabinda Padhee.
“Participation in the PM-KISAN scheme has seen a remarkable increase in Odisha, thanks to recent initiatives encouraging more farmers to join,” Padhee said during the distribution of the 19th installment of the scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted a significant rise of over 3.43 lakh beneficiaries compared to the previous year.
“At least 34,98,147 farmers from Odisha received benefits from the PM-KISAN scheme this year, marking an increase of 3,43,447 beneficiaries compared to last year,” Padhee informed.
The surge in numbers is attributed to a special drive aimed at enrolling farmers who were previously rejected or left out due to various reasons. To ensure wider reach, the government has facilitated an easy registration process through the authorised portal, enabling more farmers to avail themselves of the benefits.
To leave no farmer behind, those who are not yet part of the scheme have been encouraged to submit their applications through the established portal. This effort aligns with the government’s commitment to provide financial support to farmers and bolster the agriculture sector.
Prime Minister Modi's initiative aims to provide inclusive financial support to farmers across the state, enhancing their livelihoods and boosting agricultural productivity. The PM-KISAN scheme, which offers direct financial aid to small and marginal farmers, has been instrumental in improving rural livelihoods across India. In Odisha, this renewed focus on inclusion is expected to strengthen rural communities and promote economic stability at the village level.
