Over 100 Students Fall Ill After Dead Snake Found in Meal

Patna: Over 100 children took ill after a dead snake found in a mid-day meal served to them. The incident took place on April 24 at Upkramit Madhya Vidhyalaya in Mekra village in Patna.
Many children began vomiting and complained of dizziness. The ill taken students were shifted to nearby hospitals for the treatment. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) took suo-moto cognisance of the incident and launched a formal investigation. The commission issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and Superintendent of Police, Patna, calling for a detailed report within two weeks.
The report should include the health status of the children, it stated.
