Odisha: President Murmu Begins Three-Day Odisha Visit, Receives Warm Welcome In Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Odisha on Monday afternoon on a three-day visit during which she is scheduled to participate in a series of educational, cultural and religious engagements across Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Ganjam district.
The President landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, where she was received by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other senior dignitaries amid elaborate security arrangements.
On the first day of her visit, Murmu is scheduled to travel to Cuttack to inaugurate the Jagadguru Kripalu University, marking the formal opening of the institution.
Her itinerary on Tuesday includes a train journey from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur, after which she will offer prayers at the Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple and the Shiva Temple at Taptapani in Ganjam district. The visit also includes interactions linked to educational and cultural programmes in the state.
Ahead of the President's visit, the Odisha Police and the Special Protection Group (SPG) put in place extensive security arrangements across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and other venues on her itinerary. Around 40 platoons of police personnel were deployed, while traffic restrictions and route diversions were enforced to ensure smooth movement of the presidential convoy.
