Hyderabad: The Angul district administration in Odisha has extended the permitted hours for road transportation of coal from Naini Coal Mine to the railway siding, allowing movement between 11 pm and 5 am to help TGGENCO meet its coal supply targets.

The six-hour window replaces the earlier restriction permitting movement only from midnight to 4 a.m., according to a statement by TG Genco.

The decision followed a meeting on Monday between Angul district collector and Genco chairman and managing director Dr S. Harish, and director (coal and logistics) B. Nagya.

Coal supplies from Naini Mine in Odisha to the Yadadri Thermal Power Station have been underway since August 2026.

However, the restricted four-hour road transportation window had prevented the targeted quantity from being moved, the statement said.

The additional two hours of permitted movement are expected to improve coal dispatches from Naini Mine and help Genco meet its supply targets, the statement added.
