Neemrana Hotel Firing: NIA Raids 10 Locations In Probe
The NIA’s investigation revealed that the accused and suspects were involved in financing and executing acts of violence and terror under the direction of designated terrorist Arsh Dalla and his associate, Dinesh Gandhi.
NEW DELHI: Digging deeper into the conspiracy behind the 2024 Neemrana hotel firing attack linked to Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday said it had conducted extensive searches at 10 locations across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi. These searches targeted the residences and hideouts of accused individuals and suspects involved in promoting violent criminal activities.
The raids, carried out on Saturday, led to the seizure of several electronic devices and other incriminating materials, the NIA said in an official statement.
The attack, in which 35 rounds were fired on September 8 last year around the premises of Hotel Highway King, was intended to terrorise and intimidate the public. The two shooters were later identified as members of the Bambhia gang, which has known links to Dalla’s terrorist-gangster network. The attackers used prohibited weapons and also issued threats to the hotel owner and manager, demanding extortion money. The manager had reportedly received several threat calls from international numbers prior to the incident.
The NIA’s investigation revealed that the accused and suspects were involved in financing and executing acts of violence and terror under the direction of designated terrorist Arsh Dalla and his associate, Dinesh Gandhi.
According to the agency, Dalla’s associates have been engaged in orchestrating violent incidents to extort money and raise funds for banned Khalistani terror outfits. Businessmen and other targets were identified and coerced by these gangsters and their aides to pay large sums of money under threats of violence. The NIA took over the case in December 2023.
Arsh Dalla is a proclaimed offender in more than 50 cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and terrorist activities such as terror financing. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in May 2022, and he was officially designated as a terrorist by the Government of India in 2023.
Investigations are ongoing as part of the NIA’s broader efforts to identify and dismantle terrorist and gangster syndicates operating in the country, the statement added.
