MP: Viral video shows Anganwadi Centre serving ‘puri and salt’ as nutritious food to children
Bhopal, July 30: A viral video showing the beneficiary children in an Anganwadi Centre in Madhya Pradesh’s Maihar district being served puri (prepared from wheat) along with salt under nutritious food programme, has led to the authorities concerned to order a probe into it.
However, the probe by a district officer, Akhilesh Dipankar, has found the viral video ‘fake’, officials said.
The probe has found that the viral video is three-month-old and the clip had covered the food serving process partly, not fully and hence, it is a fake video, officials said.
The incident which had happened in Kakara Anganwadi Centre came to light on Thursday after the video was made viral by state Congress president Jitu Patwari in a post on X.
The investigation has suggested the ‘fake’ video was the fallout of the rivalry between two groups of people in the village of Kakara.
“There were no lapses in the implementation of the scheme at the Centre”, a senior district officer said, unwilling to be quoted.
