MP Police To Raise Special Wing For 3 Primitive Tribal Groups

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh police department is set to raise special companies each exclusively comprising three primitive tribe groups of the state.

Special companies exclusively for the Baigas, Bharias, and Sahariyas who have been categorized as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) will be raised by the Madhya Pradesh police.

This apart, three state industrial security forces are going to be established in the state.

This is the first time; the tribal companies and state industrial security forces are going to be raised in Madhya Pradesh.

This was announced by chief minister Mohan Yadav at the felicitation ceremony organized for him by the state police department here on Monday.

Highlighting the ongoing massive expansion of state police, Mr. Yadav declared that a new police battalion will be established in Khandwa.

He said that more than 14,704 candidates have been selected for various posts since 2023, while the recruitment process for 9,751 additional posts is underway.

Recruitment for the police band and forensic science laboratory (FSL) is also in its final stage.

The chief minister said that his government will ensure that hard work is rewarded and recognized.

A record 27,534 police officers and personnel across 58 cadres of the police department have been promoted.

This includes 12,928 constables promoted as head constables and 5,171 head constables promoted as assistant sub-inspectors at the field level.

Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana said that the Hawk Force, the counterinsurgency wing of Madhya Pradesh police, and the special auxiliary force have been strengthened with the filling up of 882 vacant posts.

The Hawk Force played a key role in rooting out Naxalism in three districts of Madhya Pradesh.

He said that the recruitment for the police band is underway for leading police parades.

All police units will soon be provided with police bands.
