BHOPAL: Theft of plasma and blood has been reported from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal. Police said on Friday that a technician, an outsourced employee of the blood bank of AIIMS, Bhopal, and his accomplice have been booked following a complaint lodged by the authorities at Bagh Sevania police station here.
A complaint filed by the blood bank in-charge of AIMS, Bhopal, Dr Gyanendra Prasad, said that several plasma and blood had been found missing from the blood bank for a long time, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Rajnish Kashyap Koul said
Preliminary police investigation has suggested that the technician, Ankit, along with his accomplice was allegedly involved in the theft. They remain at large.
According to the complaint, the technician was caught in CCTV installed in AIIMS, Bhopal, handing over two plasma units to an unidentified person on September 28. He fled the spot when the AIIMS management started questioning him on the matter.
