MP Minister Questions Bureaucrats' Sudden Love For RSS
“In our government, every officer who comes to me tries to identify him with the RSS by saying that I have also worn the Sangh uniform": Madhya Pradesh urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya
BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has said that many government officers have started showing off their affiliation to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ever since Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state.
Sharing his personal experiences at a memorial event for a former RSS ‘pracharak’ (ideologue) here, Mr. Vijavargiya said that there has been a ‘race’ among the officials to flaunt their association with the RSS.
“We are in the government now and many officers who come to me say, ‘Sir, when I was posted in Shajapur, I used to visit the shakha of Makhan Singh ji”, the minister said.
Mr. Vijayvargiya said that he asked him if he still goes to the shakha and also reminded him that he never told him about it when BJP was out of power.
“In our government, every officer who comes to me tries to identify him with the RSS by saying that I have also worn the Sangh uniform. After our government came to power, everyone became associated with the Sangh, every officer became part of the RSS”, he said.
Mr. Vijayvargiya said that even some officers described how their family members were affiliated to the RSS.
One officer said that his father was president of a shakha, although there is no such position in the RSS, he said.
Referring to late ‘pracharak’ Shaligram Tomar and some other RSS activists from Madhya Pradesh, he said that “Such people are rare. The organization is expanding, the ideology is also growing, so to say. There is such a large crowd now that good human beings are becoming scarce. If there are no good people, what is the value of that ideology? We need to reflect upon this”.
